Donald Trump Won, now what.

In a shocking turn of events, the “blue wall” has fallen, and in a decisive victory, Donald Trump is once again the President of the United States. This outcome has left many questioning how such a reversal could happen after a turbulent presidency marked by controversies, accusations of authoritarianism, and divisive rhetoric. Yet, the results tell a story of shifting demographics, with an unexpected surge of Latino support and significant backing from traditionally blue states.

How did we get here? America’s voters have seemingly turned a blind eye to Trump’s glaring flaws: his inflationary economic policies, rhetoric laced with racism, and troubling parallels to rising authoritarian leaders. In the quest for “security” and “stability,” many overlooked the lack of concrete solutions, the empty promises on issues like healthcare, and his continued denial of the climate crisis. Trump’s promises of a secure border and economic revival—while thin on specifics—seemed to resonate, overshadowing his clear stance on climate change: to do absolutely nothing. His administration has pledged to roll back environmental protections, open more lands to fossil fuel extraction, and dismiss any urgency in addressing global warming, all while our planet teeters on the brink.

Now, more than ever, we face a critical juncture. With Trump back in power, the fight against climate change faces unprecedented obstacles. We cannot afford to ignore the science or waste precious time. Every lost year inches us closer to irreversible damage. We must mobilize, innovate, and challenge these policies head-on. This isn’t just about partisanship; it’s about the survival of our planet. If we allow climate denial to dictate our future, we endanger not only our generation but generations to come. It’s time to rise above complacency and demand real action on climate, regardless of political setbacks. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and the future of our world to fight against all odds.
